Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 1, 2026
Glingio is developed and operated by VEMEST ("Glingio", "we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data Controller
VEMEST is the data controller responsible for your personal data processed through the Glingio app and website. For any privacy-related question or request, contact us at hello@glingio.com.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: first name, last name, email address, phone number (optional), and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier instead of a password.
- Content you create: event titles, descriptions, notes, dates, recurrence settings and photos you attach to your events.
- Notification preferences: the channels you enable for each event (push, email, SMS, WhatsApp) and, where applicable, your device's push notification token.
- Subscription data: your current plan, and identifiers provided by the Apple App Store or Google Play to activate and verify purchases. We do not receive or store your card or payment details.
- Usage data: the number of notifications sent per channel each month, used solely to apply the limits of your plan.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- store and display your events, notes and photos;
- send you the reminders you configured, through the channels you enabled;
- apply the notification limits associated with your subscription plan;
- respond to support requests you send us;
- maintain the security and proper functioning of the Service.
We process this data on the basis of the performance of our contract with you (providing the Service you signed up for), your consent (for example, enabling SMS or WhatsApp reminders), and our legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure and functioning correctly.
4. Notifications Are Sent Only With Your Consent
We only send you a reminder through a given channel (push, email, SMS or WhatsApp) if you have explicitly enabled that channel for that event inside the app. We do not send marketing communications or notifications through any channel you have not enabled, and you can turn off any channel at any time.
5. Who We Share Your Data With
We share limited data with service providers acting on our behalf, strictly to operate the Service:
- Push notification provider, to deliver push notifications to your device and to support sign-in with Google. Analytics and advertising features are disabled for this provider.
- SMS and WhatsApp messaging provider, to deliver SMS and WhatsApp reminders.
- Email delivery provider, to send email reminders and account-related emails such as verification codes.
- App store platforms, to process and verify subscription purchases (Apple App Store and Google Play).
We may change these providers over time; when we do, the same categories of data continue to apply under the same safeguards described in this policy. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
6. International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized under GDPR, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy framework.
7. Data Retention
We keep your account data and content for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account inside the app, or through our account deletion page if you no longer have the app installed. When you request deletion, your account is deactivated immediately and your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records by law (for example, billing records, which we keep for the period required under applicable tax and accounting rules). Security and server logs are retained for up to 90 days for fraud prevention and troubleshooting.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription purchased through the App Store or Google Play — you should cancel it separately from the relevant store to avoid future charges.
8. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten");
- request a copy of your data in a portable format;
- object to, or request restriction of, certain processing;
- withdraw your consent at any time, for example by disabling a notification channel.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@glingio.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls limiting who can view your data. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss or misuse.
10. Children's Privacy
Glingio is not directed at children below the minimum legal age of digital consent applicable in their country of residence. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age without the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
11. Cookies & Similar Technologies
Our website uses Google Fonts to display text correctly, which may cause your browser to connect to Google's servers. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on our website.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
13. Contact Us
